Saudi Arabia secured 18 international awards in the Hospital Development and Scientific Research categories during the 48th World Hospital Congress held in Geneva, reaffirming its global competitiveness and presenting a leading healthcare model aligned with Vision 2030.
Saudi hospitals won 13 awards in hospital development projects, including King Khalid Hospital in Al-Kharj from the Riyadh First Health Cluster, which received the Gold Award of the Dr. Kuang Tai Kim Grand Prize, the highest honor at the congress. Al-Kharj Maternity and Children’s Hospital won the Silver Award from the American Hospital Association for healthcare workforce well-being, while King Salman Hospital in Riyadh received the Silver Award from Mastercard for operational excellence. Jubail Health Network from the Eastern Health Cluster won the Bronze Award for excellence in environmental and social responsibility.
In the scientific research category, Saudi researchers won 5 awards across various tracks. Dr. Maadi Al-Harbi, Scientific Research Advisor to the Assistant Minister for Health Services, won in the Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence track. Dr. Hatem Abdullah from Riyadh First Health Cluster won in Clinical Models, a track also won by Muslim Sadran from Najran Health Cluster. Additionally, Dr. Hadi Al-Saleem from Najran Health Cluster won in the Sustainability track.
These achievements reflect the Saudi health system’s ability to build an integrated model that combines quality healthcare, innovation, research, and sustainability, strengthening its global leadership in the healthcare sector.
