The Investor Forum continued its sessions in Riyadh as part of the Global Health Exhibition 2025, held under the theme “Invest in Health” and under the patronage of the Ministry of Health, supported by the Health Sector Transformation Program within Saudi Vision 2030.
The forum brings together global leaders, investors, and experts in healthcare, biotechnology, and venture capital, reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s growing position as a global hub for health innovation and investment, in line with Vision 2030’s goal of enhancing the health sector’s attractiveness as a key driver of the national economy.
In his opening address, Dr. Khalid AlBrikan, Deputy Minister of Health for Investment, highlighted the rapid growth of healthcare investments in the Kingdom, driven by economic reforms and supportive regulatory policies fostering public-private partnerships, emphasizing that Saudi Arabia’s investment environment is now among the most attractive in the region and beyond.
The forum featured a series of specialized panel discussions addressing the future of global healthcare investment and the Kingdom’s rising role as a regional leader.
In the session titled “Mapping the Future of Global Health Investment,” participants discussed economic and technological trends shaping sector growth, featuring Plug and Play Ventures’ Global Head of Health, the Managing Partner at Abra Ventures, the CEO of Novo Capital, and the Head of Biotechnology Investments at NEOM.
Another session, “The Boom in Life Sciences and Biotech Investments,” explored key drivers behind sector funding growth and the role of AI in genomics and drug discovery, with contributions from the Global President of DHR Ventures and the Chairwoman & Managing Director of MetaHub (Eli Lilly subsidiary), alongside leading biotech experts.
The “Digital Leap in Healthcare – How AI is Shaping the Future” session discussed AI’s impact on diagnostics, treatment, and system efficiency, while “Beyond Gravity – The Kingdom’s Role in Space Biotech” examined microgravity’s potential in accelerating drug discovery and Saudi Arabia’s pioneering role in space-based biotechnology.
The “Private Markets in Financing Health Prosperity” session compared venture capital and private equity funds in driving sector growth, while “Capital and Legacy – The Role of Family Offices in Advancing Health Innovation” discussed family offices as long-term strategic investors guided by sustainability and social impact principles.
The forum also witnessed the launch of several investment funds focused on the Saudi healthcare market, alongside sessions exploring innovation in Saudi health tech, 2030 trends in global healthcare, and regulatory environments and advanced therapeutics.
The event will conclude with the Next Gen Pitch Competition, bringing together emerging health tech startups to present innovative solutions before an international panel of judges, highlighting the next generation of health innovation and investment in Saudi Arabia.
