The Insurance Authority is participating in the Global Health Exhibition 2025, which kicked off today at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Mulham, and runs until October 30. The event features more than 1,200 local and international companies and brands from over 70 countries, and hosts 500 experts and speakers discussing the latest developments in the health sector, promoting innovation, advancing healthcare services, and strengthening integration between the health insurance sector and healthcare providers in the Kingdom.
Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qahtani, the official spokesperson of the Insurance Authority, stated that the Authority’s participation in this global event aims to highlight its active role in regulating the insurance sector and enhancing governance to protect the rights of all stakeholders, in addition to raising visitors’ awareness of their insurance rights, particularly medical malpractice and health insurance coverage.
The Authority’s activities during the exhibition also include awareness initiatives to promote insurance literacy, emphasizing the importance of insurance in enhancing health and professional well-being for both healthcare professionals and beneficiaries, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to improve quality of life.
The health insurance segment represents the largest share of the Saudi insurance market (55.5%), with total written premiums increasing from SAR 38.6 billion in 2023 to SAR 42.2 billion in 2024, reflecting a 9.4% growth rate. Currently, 23 licensed companies operate in the health insurance market in the Kingdom.
The Global Health Exhibition is recognized as the largest annual healthcare event in Saudi Arabia, bringing together health leaders, experts, and innovators from around the world to discuss advances in healthcare, showcase cutting-edge technologies and medical solutions, and foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and investment opportunities within the Kingdom’s growing health sector.
