The Minister of Health, H.E. Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel, took part today in the 11th Meeting of the Committee of Health Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the 88th Meeting of the GCC Health Ministers’ Council, held in Kuwait.
The Minister extended his gratitude and appreciation to the State of Kuwait for the warm reception and generous hospitality, emphasizing that these gatherings embody the commitment of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countrie to strengthening Gulf health integration and advancing the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens and residents.
AlJalajel noted that the meetings build upon the outcomes of last year’s session in Doha and represent a continuation of joint Gulf health efforts, aimed at reinforcing the GCC’s regional and global presence and expanding strategic partnerships with international and regional health organizations.
He also underscored the importance of promoting international collaboration, fostering innovation, and adopting advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence to enhance healthcare quality, highlighting the GCC’s initiative to launch the Health Innovation and Excellence Award.
The meetings reviewed the GCC Health Ministers’ Committee work plan and discussed several key topics, including mechanisms to enhance health integration, develop Healthy Cities across the GCC, and standardize classification and registration procedures for healthcare specialties, all in pursuit of sustainable health development across member states.
