Saudi Minister of Health, H.E. Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel met with Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, during an official visit to the Kingdom. Dr. Abdel Ghaffar was accompanied by Egypt's newly appointed ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ihab Abu Sarea.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector, exchanging views on several key issues of mutual interest. The discussions focused on improving healthcare services and advancing specialized medical programs in both countries.
The meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation pathways and expanding their scope, particularly in health-related fields.
At the conclusion of the visit, the two ministers signed a new Memorandum of Understanding aimed at deepening the strategic partnership between the two nations in the health sector. The agreement outlines cooperation in several priority areas, including public health, epidemic response, therapeutic services, virtual medicine, and digital health technologies. It also promotes the exchange of best practices, investment in healthcare, joint research and studies, and coordination on regional and international health issues, especially in line with the International Health Regulations. The memorandum further supports collaborative development of clinical guidelines and evidence-based medical practices.
