The Ministry of Health will launch tomorrow the fifth edition of “Walk 30," the largest walking event held across Saudi Arabia. The initiative aims to promote a walking culture, encourage healthy lifestyle choices, and prevent chronic diseases. It supports the goals of the Health Sector Transformation Program, part of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to create a vibrant society with a supportive, health-focused environment and a higher quality of life for all.
Since its inception, more than 1.5 million participants have joined the “Walk 30" initiative, logging over two billion steps. This year's event sees broad participation from across the Kingdom, with strong support from the Health Holding Company and its affiliated health clusters. The main event will take place at the Sports Boulevard “Promenade" in Riyadh, with additional activities happening simultaneously in cities including Jazan, Najran, Makkah, Madinah, Al-Ahsa, Al-Jouf, Al-Qurayyat, Bisha, Al-Baha, Al-Qunfudhah, Hafar Al-Batin, the Eastern Province, Jeddah, Tabuk, Hail, Taif, Al-Qassim, and the Northern Borders Region. The event is also integrated digitally through the “Sehhaty" app via the Digital Walking League, leveraging technology to boost community engagement and promote sustainable health practices.
The Sports Boulevard, hosting the main “Walk 30" event, is a landmark project offering a safe and comprehensive space for physical activity. It plays a key role in promoting healthy lifestyles and supports Saudi Vision 2030's mission to make Riyadh one of the world's most livable cities.
The Ministry of Health emphasized its ongoing commitment to preventive health initiatives and empowering the community to adopt long-term healthy behaviors that enhance quality of life and public health standards. Citizens and residents are encouraged to take part in the event by registering through the official platform
