Saudi Health Sector Honored with Award and 19 Medals at Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions 2025
14 April 2025

The Saudi health sector has earned global acclaim after securing a prestigious award and 19 medals at the 2025 Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. This is a testament to the Kingdom’s growing leadership in healthcare innovation and its unwavering commitment to advancing health services under the guidance of the Ministry of Health.

This international achievement underscores Saudi Arabia’s efforts to develop cutting-edge medical solutions, improve service quality and accessibility, and enhance health system preparedness. It also reflects the broader goals of the Health Sector Transformation Program, a key pillar of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to foster a vibrant society with sustainable health and improved quality of life.

Minister of Health H.E. Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel reaffirmed the Kingdom’s global healthcare ambitions, emphasizing that innovation is central to the ongoing transformation of the health sector. He noted that strategic investments in advanced technologies, strengthened international partnerships, and the development of an accessible, sustainable healthcare ecosystem are driving tangible improvements in public health. AlJalajel added that Saudi Arabia’s participation in the Geneva exhibition reflects its firm commitment to shaping the future of global healthcare and its ambition to raise national life expectancy to 80 years by 2030.

The Saudi pavilion featured key health entities including the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), the Council of Health Insurance (CHI), the National Institute for Health Research, and the National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO). These organizations showcased a range of advanced health innovations, highlighting the Kingdom’s progress in research, development, and patient-centered care.
Among the accolades, NUPCO received a special award, while three organizations — NUPCO, the Health Research Institute, and the SFDA — were awarded gold medals with distinction. Additional gold medals were granted to the Health Research Institute and the SFDA. Nine silver medals were earned by several health clusters affiliated with the Health Holding Company, in addition to the SFDA and the Health Research Institute. Four bronze medals were also awarded to other health clusters and the Council of Health Insurance.

The Ministry of Health continues to support health innovation by empowering national talent, encouraging cross-sector collaboration, and adopting emerging technologies, further strengthening the Kingdom’s regional and international standing in healthcare research, innovation, and service excellence.

Held in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions is among the world’s most prominent platforms for innovation. Now in its 50th edition, the exhibition hosts over 1,000 inventions from more than 40 countries, with institutional exhibitors representing nearly 80% of participants — reaffirming the event’s status as a premier global hub for sharing inventive solutions and fostering international collaboration.
