05 July 2022

The Ministry of Health’s (MOH) medical convoy carrying pilgrims who were admitted in Madinah’s hospitals arrived in Makkah today. They are hospitalized in Jabal Ar-Raḥmah Hospital, Arafat. This comes in implementation of the directives of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown prince to enable the pilgrims to perform Hajj with ease amid integrated medical care for pilgrims and their companions since their arrival in the Kingdom and then Makkah and ascending Mount Arafat.

After a hiatus of two years due the coronavirus pandemic travel restrictions, the convoy left Madinah early this morning carrying sick pilgrims of different nationalities from Madinah hospitals to holy sites in Makkah, to enable them to perform Hajj.

The convoy included different medical conditions in need of medical care and a number of buses. It also included 10 well-equipped ambulances with the presence of a specialized medical team consisting of doctors, nurses and paramedics, in addition to 5 standby ambulances, an intensive care ambulance, an integrated oxygen cabin, a mobile first aid workshop, and a bus for transporting patient companions.
