Dr. Asiri Wins First Place of ‘Arab Doctor Award’ for 2021

Deputy Minister of Health for Preventive Health, Abdullah bin Mefarreh Asiri, won first place of the ‘Arab Doctor Award’ for the year 2021. Dr. Asiri was selected as a winner during the third meeting of the award’s committee, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in the Egyptian capital Cairo, on 14 and 15 February. Three winners were selected to receive the ‘Arab Doctor Award’. They are:  The nominee of KSA, Dr. Abdullah bin Mefarreh Asiri, the Deputy Minister of Health for Preventive Health, won the first place award. The nominee of Bahrain, Dr. Jamila Al-Salman, a consultant of infectious diseases and geriatrics at Salmaniya Medical Complex, won the second place award. The nominee of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr. Nancy Al-Gendy, Head of the Central Department of Laboratories at the Egyptian Ministry of Health, won the third-place award.


The winners of the ‘Arab Doctor Award’ will be honored during the 56th regular session of the Council of Arab Ministers for Health, to be held on March 24 at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States. The Award targets doctors working in the health field and its branches, as well as health sciences, in the Arab world. These doctors must have distinguished initiatives implemented in the Arab world, and a positive impact in terms of improving health services. ​
