According to Makkah Health Cluster, Al-Noor Specialist Hospital has launched the first medical rehabilitation unit at Burns Department of MOH hospitals. This unit provides various services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, prosthetics, and splints. It also aims to provide comprehensive medical rehabilitation services.
The physiotherapist maintains the range of motion and muscle strength of the patient by means of gait training exercises through integrated medical equipment. The occupational therapist cares with scars, and make upper limb splints, while the prosthetics and orthotic specialist manufactures splints for burn patients, through the unit equipment.
It is worth mentioning that the Medical Rehabilitation Center at Al Noor Specialist Hospital is equipped with cutting-edge medical devices in the field of physiotherapy and occupational therapy, therapeutic exercise equipment, in addition to a Bone Mineral Density Machine (DXA-BMD). The Occupational Therapy (OT) Department aims to improve functional ability. All upper and lower prosthetics, walking aids, splints, and various spinal belts are manufactured in the Orthotics and Prosthetics Lab, which is a center serving the Western region and beyond.
