According to Al-Jouf Health Affairs, over the past year (2021), The Bariatric Surgery Center of King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital (KASH) has successfully performed 121 sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass surgeries to treat obesity.
“The surgeries have been performed through the temporary assistance program by attracting a number of competencies in the field. The center features several support specialties, such as clinical nutrition, interventional radiology, endoscopy, endocrinology, cardiology, respiratory medicine, in addition to a psychologist and psychiatrist. Obese and overweight patients are referred to the center through coordination with hospitals’ outpatient clinics”, stated the Affairs.
