Health Minister Congratulates Leadership on G20 Summit Success

​​HE the Minister of Health, Dr. Tawfik Al-Rabiah, extended his sincere congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the success of the G20 Summit 2020 which was hosted by the Kingdom and concluded on Sunday in Riyadh.​

This success reflects the Kingdom's leadership and distinction in hosting this global summit at an honorable level that lives up to its position and makes everyone proud. With great ability and puissance, the Kingdom has led the meetings and work of the G20 summit throughout the year, and paved the way for its success, despite the exceptional circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 The Kingdom was able to successfully preside over this summit and manage its work with sophistication and smart management. This further highlights the prestigious position that the Kingdom occupies, and serves as proof of the active role it plays at all levels. It also highlights its leadership of the world and how it seizes the opportunities of the 21st century to make them available for everyone. It does this by empowering people, achieving sustainable development and economic stability, and reinforcing health care. 

Furthermore, the Kingdom is constantly opening new horizons in various fields and works to facilitate communication between all countries of the world and international organizations in order to make common issues open for discussion.

The closing statement of the G20 summit and the decisions it issued emphasize the importance of intensifying and concerting international efforts to challenge COVID-19, mitigate its effects on the peoples of the world, and preserve their health and safety. The Kingdom was proactive in terms of this issue; with the generous directions and continuous follow-up of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince. 

They took proactive measures and made effective decisions that played a major role in dealing with this pandemic. Moreover, the Kingdom will be one of the first countries to receive vaccines that meet the standards of effectiveness and safety directly from leading international companies in the vaccine industry, and through international (COVAX).

The Minister has also praised the efforts made by the Summit Presidency Secretariat, work committees and organizers. Saudi Arabians have proven to the whole world that they have competence, expertise and professionalism; which qualified them for this distinguished preparation and remarkable organization of the summit. He concluded by praying that Allah keeps the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince safe and the Kingdom safe and stable.
