MOH: 1,877 New COVID-19 Cases Reported, Recoveries Surpass 62,000

​​According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), 1,877 new confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in the Kingdom; thus bringing the total number to 85,261 cases, including 22,316 active cases, receiving the necessary medical care. Of these, there are 453 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable. Also, 3,559 cases have been recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 62,442 cases, All praise is due to Allah.


 “The new confirmed cases include 43% Saudi citizens and 57% non-Saudi residents. About 30% of the cases are females, and 70% are males. Only 5% of the reported cases are older persons, 12% are children, and 83% are adults,” MOH stated.

MOH added that these new cases were distributed as follows: 586 in Jeddah, 504 in Riyadh, 159 in Makkah, 110 in Dammam, 95 in Madinah, 55 in Hofuf, 50 in Jubail, 33 in Khobar, 29 in Dhahran, 25 in Buraydah, 22 in Taif, 21 in Qatif, 18 in Al-Madhah, 18 in Al-Mubarraz, 17 in Hail, 13 in Khulis, 10 in Safwa, 8 in Najran, 8 in Al-Kharj, 7 in Al-Baha, 7 in Al-Layth, 6 in Jazan, 6 in Al-Sulayyil, 6 in Khamis Mushayt, 5 in Yanbu, 5 in Dhuba, 4 in Al-Hada, 4 in Al-Muzahimiyah, 3 in Al-Jafr, 3 in Unaizah, 3 in Al-Qunfudhah, 2 in Al-Bukayriyah, 2 in Al-Quoz, 2 in Al-Majardah, 2 in Al-Khafji, 2 in Al-Nuairiyah, 2 in Abqaiq, 2 in Hafr Al-Batin, 2 in Sharurah, 2 in Al-Majma'a, 2 in Al-Zulfi, 2 in Wadi Al-Far‘, in addition to one case in each of Al-Ola , Oyoun Al-Jawa, Dhahran Al-Janoub, Tanumah, Al-Sahn, Al-Darb, Damad, Samtah, Rabigh, Hotat Bani Tamim, Marat, Tamir, Wadi Al-Dawasir, and Tabuk.

Moreover, 23 new deaths have been reported in Makkah, Riyadh, Madinah, Jeddah, Dammam, and Hofuf, and most of them were suffering chronic diseases; bringing the total deaths to 503 (at a rate of 0.59%), while recoveries amounted to 73%.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide has jumped to 6,082,549 cases, of which 2,575,166 cases have recovered to date. As for the COVID-19 death toll, it has jumped to 369,529.  

Regarding the lab tests in the Kingdom, new 16,200 lab tests have been conducted, bringing the total tests to date to 822,769. The reliable information about COVID-19 could be obtained from «Coronavirus Prevention» website. Besides, MOH has called all people to keen to frequently wash their hands with water and soap, as it is the major shield against coronavirus, and to wear medical or cloth face masks, or any mouth-nose covers, except those who are alone in a closed area.

MOH reiterated that anyone, who has symptoms or wants an assessment, can use the self-assessment service on «Mawid» app. Those, who have questions, can also inquire or seek advice by calling the 937-Service Center, available 24/7. The Center is now made closer to everyone than ever. The public can also benefit from its interactive services through WhatsApp app. on the number 920005937. They can have access to health information and updates on COVID-19. The service also provides users with information on blood donation and primary health care centers (PHCs). Besides, it enables them to reserve appointments.
