The Assistant Minister of Health and MOH spokesman, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdulaali, stated that 2,399 new confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in the Kingdom; thus bringing the total number to 72,560 cases, including 28,650 active cases, receiving the medical care they may need. Of these, there are 372 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable. Also, 2,284 cases have been recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 43,520 cases, All praise is due to Allah.
During the press conference held today (Sunday), Dr. Al-Abdulaali mentioned that the new confirmed cases reported today include 34% Saudi citizens and 66% non-Saudi residents. About 21% of the cases are females, and 79% are males. Only 3% of the reported cases are older persons, 10% are children, and 87% are adults.
Besides, these new cases are distributed as follows: 742 in Riyadh, 611 in Makkah, 474) in Jeddah, 136 in Dammam, 120 in Al-Khobar, 82 in Jubail, 69 in Madinah, 25 in Taif, 22 in Al-Qatif, 19 in Khulais, 18 in Al-Hofuf, 12 in Hail, 12 in Buraidah, 7 in Dhahran, 6 in Baish, 6 in Al-Kharj, 4 in Thurayban , 4 in Sharurah, 3 in Mahayil Asir, 3 in Tabuk, two cases in Al Bukayriyah, two cases in Al-Sahn, two cases in Ras Tanura, two cases in Sabia, two cases in Rabigh, two cases in Ramah, and one case in each of Al-Aqiq, Al-Bahah, Al-Hanakiya, Yanbu, Al Russ, Al Quoz, Al Quraia, Abha, Khamis Mushait, Mawqq, Al-Majmaah, and Haql.
Moreover, 11 new deaths have been reported; bringing the total deaths to 390. The new deaths include a 42-year-old Saudi citizen in Makkah, and 10 non-Saudi residents in Makkah and Riyadh, aged 30-70 years old; thus bringing the total deaths to 0.54% and recoveries to 60%.
Also, Dr. Al-Abdulaali pointed out that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide has jumped to 5,334,675 cases, of which 2,124,420 cases have recovered to date. As for the COVID-19 death toll, it has jumped to 341,513.
He added that the lab tests in the Kingdom have conducted new 18,919 tests, bringing the total tests to date to 703,534, highlighting that conducting the lab tests are continuing .He also underlined that curfew is a method, and the effective way to lower the casualties is our individual and behavioral commitment as individuals.
