According to Makkah Health Affairs, over the past year (1440H.), the Home Medicine Department of King Faisal Hospital-Makkah has conducted 6,243 home medical visits to provide patients enrolled in the Home Medicine Program (HMP) with therapeutic health services at their homes and among their families. The hospital has provided those patients (totaling 422 patients) with home health care by a qualified and specialized medical team, and met their necessary medical equipment and non-medical needs.
It is worth mentioning that the home health care aims to provide a host medical services to beneficiaries at their homes, including the elderly, people with strokes, and patients with chronic respiratory diseases, mental and neurological diseases, cancers, urinary system diseases, and chronic diseases, such as: hypertension, diabetes, geriatric diseases, and others. These medical services feature wound dressings, physiotherapy, palliative care, monitoring and assessment of blood pressure and blood glucose levels, in addition to providing tube feeding, psychosocial support, health awareness and education, and seasonal vaccines, such as influenza vaccine and others.
