Governor of Eastern Region Lays Foundation Stone for Hamad Al-Jabr Oncology Center-Al-Ahsa

​​His Royal Highness the Governor of Eastern Region, Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz al Saud, has laid the foundation stone of Hamad Al-Jabr Oncology Center project in Al-Ahsa. The ceremony was attended by Governor of Al-Ahsa Prince Badr bin Muhammad bin Galway al Saud and Vice Minister of Health Mr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al-Duweila', as well as a number of officials. ​


The ceremony started with recitation of the Holy Quran. Then, on behalf of the donors, Dr. Yousef Al-Jabr gave a speech in which he underlined the importance of charitable work, saying that the project covers an area of 2,100 square meters, including 4 stories and air ambulance landing site on the building's roof to provide chemical, biology and radiation therapy for cancer patients.

After that Al-Duweila' gave a brief review of the project, which seeks to provide integrated therapeutic services to cancer patients in Al-Ahsa in accordance with cutting-edge medical services, saving them the burden of seeking treatment outside the region. The center will have 30-bed capacity, 20 for adults and 10 for children, he said, adding that it will feature chemical and biology therapy unit as well as two devices for radiation therapy, on a daily basis. He extended his thanks and appreciation for the attention the Governor gives to all projects and initiatives for the benefit of region's citizens, and his field inspection, accompanying with the Governor of Al-Ahsa, of the development projects.

At the end of the ceremony, Prince Saud bin Naif reviewed the project blueprint and listened to a detailed explanation of the center.  

It is noteworthy that the center is financed by Abdullatif Al-Jabr at a total cost of SR 70 million as a part of the community partnership program, one of MOH's new initiatives, which aim to engage all components of society to contribute to health development, and opening new horizons of relationship between MOH and society for boosting the citizens' health.
