Al-Jafar General Hospital - Al-Ahsa: Successful Surgery for Rare Case
15 October 2017
Al-Jafar General Hospital - Al-Ahsa received a 15-year-old patient. After due clinical checkups and x-ray imaging at the maxillofacial surgery clinic, he was diagnosed with a transmigrated mandibular left canine to the chin area where it remained embedded without any symptoms. This is a very rare case of tooth transmigration. Immediately, the patient was operated on after his bilateral chin nerve was locally anesthetized. The surgery was successful.

Notably, Al-Jafar General Hospital features a 30-bed capacity. Its emergency receives 14 thousand cases monthly. The hospital provides its therapeutic services in various disciplines, including: internal medicine, general surgery, pediatrics, orthopedics, maternity and children, dentistry, ENT, ophthalmology, urology, as well as outpatient clinics.

It is also noted that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program is in line with the National Transformation Plan 2020 towards achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The program covers 70 hospitals and features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects, which have positively reduced the waiting times.
