Governor of Najran Launches Number of Health Projects at Total Cost of SR 1,121,870,000

His Royal Highness Prince Jiluwi bin Abdulaziz bin Musa‘ed, the governor of Najran Region, has launched a number of health projects in the region (at a total cost of SR 1,121,870,000), including five modern hospitals, the development of other two hospitals, a specialized dental center and a number of 13 primary healthcare centers. On this occasion, a launch ceremony has been held at Prince Mishaal Bin Abdullah Conference and Seminar Hall, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Health.
 
The ceremony began with recitation of some verses of the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech of His Excellency the Minister of Health, in which he pointed out that health services in the Kingdom have been dramatically supported by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz; in order to provide comprehensive and integrated healthcare services to all people of this generous country. “This matter has positively been reflected on the completion of plans and programs carried out by the Ministry of Health (MOH), focusing on the improvement of the procedures and work environment at health facilities, as well as honing the skills of all health practitioners, so as to promote the performance of healthcare services provided to patients and their families, in addition to the disease control and early detection,” said Al-Rabiah. He went on saying that the past years have witnessed many achievements, in terms of the implementation of the MOH’s strategy to provide high-quality healthcare services, in an endeavor to achieve the Saudi vision 2030 based on the principles of justice and comprehensiveness in the provision of healthcare services throughout all regions of the Kingdom.
 
Moreover, Al-Rabiah has lauded the progress achieved in the healthcare services in Najran region, the matter which has been supported by the wise leadership and under the follow-up and interest of His Royal Highness the governor of Najran, to achieve significant achievements and a paradigm shift in the quality and quantity of healthcare services provided at hospitals and primary healthcare centers in the region. These achievements included the launch of three new hospitals with 450-bed capacity, bringing the number of hospitals in the region to 11 hospitals with 1,350-bed capacity, in addition to a center specialized in dental surgery, as well as the launch of five new primary healthcare centers, bringing the number of primary healthcare centers in the region to 68 centers.
 
After that, His Royal Highness watched a presentation on the healthcare services provided in the region. Then, he inaugurated the health projects in the region, including  the new Najran General Hospital with 200-bed capacity (at a total cost of SR 210, 330, 000), Al-Amal Mental Health Complex with the same bed capacity (at  a total cost of SR 235, 340,000), Khubash General Hospital with 50-bed capacity (at a total cost of SR 60, 763,000), the Specialized Dental Center with 40-clinic capacity (at a total cost of SR 36, 344, 000). These health projects also included the development of the infrastructure of King Khalid Hospital (at a total cost of SR 97, 327,000), and equipping and the development of the smart ICU in the same hospital with 80-bed capacity (at a total cost of SR 53, 270,000), in addition to the construction and equipping of three central warehouses (at a total cost of SR 25,000,000). Besides, the projects included the inauguration of eight primary healthcare centers (at a total cost of SR 20,000,000) and the construction and operation of 5 primary healthcare centers.
 
Furthermore, the health projects also included the development of health services at Maternity and Children Hospital, by means of equipping the building of outpatient clinics with 28-clinic capacity (at a total cost of SR 35,220,000), the development and equipping of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 41-bed capacity (at a total cost of SR 24, 276,000), the development of Pediatric Emergency Section (at a total cost of SR 4,000,000. Besides, the private healthcare services in the region included the construction and equipping of Al-Shifa Medical Hospital (at a total cost of SR 120,000,000) and Al-Qadi Specialist Hospital (at a total cost of SR 200,000,000).
 
Within the same vein, the Governor of Najran highlighted that these projects reflect the keenness of the wise leadership, May Allah support them, on the citizen’s health care, and the wise trend towards the development of Saudi man. At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency the Minister of Health extended his thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness the governor of Najran, for sponsoring the launch ceremony. Meanwhile, His Royal Highness extended his thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Health on this occasion. Then, His Royal Highness has inaugurated the annexed exhibition, which included pavilions for all health services in the region, as well as data and statistics on health services provided to citizens.
