MOH Organizes Quality and Patient Safety Forum

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has recently organized quality and patient safety forum titled "Bridging Initiatives and Objectives of Health Quality to Achieve our Vision"
 
The two-day activities included a number of workshops with the aim of supporting and explaining the initiatives, and covered quality leadership and administrative skills in the health affairs general directorates, basic structure of performance indicators board of different levels, main points for application of the standards of the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) at the MOH's hospitals, risk management, Japanese Kaizen Strategy, waste less in health quality, in addition to a specialized course in data analysis using SPSS system.
 
Also, progress of projects and initiatives have been reviewed with the aim of clarifying the vision and enhancing transparency and involving the concerned, form all regions directorates, provinces and facilities, in these initiatives. In this regard the MOH submitted a number of working papers, most notably: strategic plan for quality and patient safety, patient-centered care project, performance indicators board projects at the ministerial, directorates and hospitals level, quality and patient safety governance project for linking directorates with hospitals, implementing strategies of the MOH, developing programs for risk management, the reality and expectation of applying basic safety standards of CBAHI. In addition to the roles of directorates in safety and patient safety (the experience of Hafr AL-Batin directorate), the experience of King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh in applying program of quality and patient safety, besides the clinical review program (the experience of Dammam Medical Complex).  
  
It is noteworthy that the MOH has recently involved in organizing a number of events and forums that aim to support its initiatives and enhance communication between all members of community and their interaction with its programs and future plans, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
