KAMC's Advisory Board Achieves a Paradigm Shift in in Patient Care Delivery

The Advisory Board at King Abdullah Medical City (KAMC) in Makkah has implemented a number of qualitative programs and innovative ideas that contributed to the development and enhancement of the health services provided to patients and beneficiaries of the KAMC’s health services. Among these programs and ideas are the volunteering companion, the golf carts, the app of KAMC for smartphones, Appointments Reminder Service via SMS, service evaluation to measure patient satisfaction.
 
The KAMC in the Holy Capital has established an Advisory Board out of its noble mission and its belief in the importance of developing health work and promoting the level of the medical services provided to patients, by means of listening directly to their comments on these services and working to improve them.  The importance of the Advisory Board, which is linked to the CEO, represents in engaging the beneficiaries of the health service (patients or any of their relatives), considering them as the axis or basic pillar in the health care system, along with the KAMC staff; in an endeavor to participate in promoting and improving its health services.
 
Furthermore, the Advisory Board aims at submitting recommendations, improving the systems and laws related to the development of the service provided, and benefiting from patients and their families, in terms of their expertise and past experiences in health institutions. Thus, the Board gives the patients and their families the opportunity to implement and follow up the Advisory Board’s the recommendations and outcomes, in such a manner that contributes to obtaining distinctive health care services, in an endeavor to apply the best international standards and practices in improving the patient's health care experience.
