The International Conference on Mass Gathering Medicine, hosted by the Ministry of Health (MOH), has been inaugurated today (Monday) in Riyadh, under the theme: “Mass Gathering and Crisis Management”. An elite of speakers in the field of mass gathering and crisis management from different governmental sectors, including the Armed Forces, the Security Forces, health organizations, hospitals and governmental and private universities, will participate in the conference. They will draw up a general and comprehensive overview about the role and importance of the crisis management.
Within the same vein, the Deputy Minister of Health for Public Health, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Saeed, pointed out that the conference aims at viewing the scientific and practical experiments that have already been dealt with in similar circumstances, in an endeavor to strengthen the effectiveness of health measures, which are taken to deal with human gatherings during Hajj season. At the end of his speech, he wished the participants success and that the conference will come out with recommendations to support the work process in the field of mass gathering medicine.
The conference is reckoned an opportunity for the Kingdom to introduce its experience during the Hajj season; as being a unique one, in terms of managing more than three million pilgrims within a limited area and time frame, the matter which makes the Kingdom an example to be followed. It is also reckoned an opportunity to benefit from globally renowned experts and specialists in the international organizations, and to facilitate the exchange of expertise, and thus developing the health programs.
