4 MOH Videos for Those in Contact with Camels on How to Avoid MERS-CoV
04 May 2015
Within the context of the MERS-CoV Awareness Campaign dubbed "We Can Stop This", the Ministry of Health (MOH) has launched, via the website: wecanstopthis.com, four short videos to promote awareness about methods of protection against the Coronavirus among members of community who are in close contact with camels. The videos will be shared on the MOH's Twitter account, as well as its official site. The videos contain educational scenes in the Saudi local dialect, with each video not exceeding 30 seconds length.

The four videos aim at educating community categories who are in close contact with camels, such as herdsmen and workers in slaughterhouses as well as camel owners and their families. Each clip tells a brief story of a person infected with the Coronavirus, including an awareness message about causes of his infection and methods of protection against the virus. The videos, which the MOH is using to attract attention about the importance of adherence to methods of protection against the Coronavirus, also contain important messages on health safety guidelines of all infectious diseases.

Sharing these educational videos came less than a week after the launch of the wecanstopthis.com, which allows electronic volunteering for Twitter users, with the aim of involving the largest possible segment of the community in anti-corona awareness campaign. Visitors of the site may register their accounts in Twitter and retweet awareness tweets with the hashtag: "#"نقدر_نوقفها (We Can Stop This), on their personal accounts and in collaboration with the MOH.
