The Assistant Director General of Hospitals, Dr. Humoud Al-Fayez, has inaugurated yesterday, Sunday, a three-day training course on “The Updates of Obstetrics and Gynecology”, which is organized by the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Consultant of obstetrics and gynecology at King Saud Medical City (KSMC), who serves also as advisor to Hospitals General Department and director of the Development of Obstetrics and Gynecology Services Program, Dr. Mona Al-Awwad, has pointed out that the training course revolves around the updates of obstetrics and gynecology, with regard to women's endoscopic surgery, including laparoscopic hysterectomy. “The course aims at training the fe/male consultants and specialists in obstetrics and gynecology on the uses of women’s endoscopic surgery devices in hysterectomy surgeries. The training course comprises lectures, workshops and live hysterectomy surgeries at Al-Eiman Hospital,” said Dr. Mona Al-Awwad.
She went on adding that “the training course is attended by 30 Saudi fe/male MOH consultants and specialists from the Kingdom’s different regions, in an endeavor to hone their skills on the uses of the new devices.”
Finally, Dr. Mona Al-Awwad has indicated that four speakers participate in the training course; two of them are from the United States, namely Dr. Busk and Dr. Warren. The other two are from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, namely Dr. Salah Al-Maghrabi, from King Abdulaziz Medical City for National Guard Health Affairs (KAMC-NGHA), the other being Dr. Mona Al-Awwadز
