Under the auspices of His Excellency the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, the Ministry of Health (MOH), in collaboration with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS)-Middle East, is to organize an E-Health Conference and Exhibition under the title: “Harmonization and Change Management”, on April 13th -14th, 2014 (corresponding to Joumada Al-Akerah 13th -14th, 1435H), at Jeddah Hilton Hotel.

The conference will provide a clear vision on the MOH's e-health strategies, and will shed light on ways to maintain its globally pioneering role in the provision of best-quality healthcare services, both at present and in the future, by means of automating health service.

Furthermore, the conference will touch upon the latest developments in the field of health information technology worldwide, and will highlight the pivotal role of the e-health service, and its contributions to providing the highest possible quality of health care services for beneficiaries across the world. Moreover, it will draw attention to distinct progress achieved by the Saudi Ministry of Health, and the strategies it adopts to give rise to the e-health domain, with a view to improving the quality and efficiency of the health systems for all Saudi citizens and residents. That is brought into effect by a constellation of specialists in the e-health field at both the regional and international levels, with the participation of a number of MOH senior officials.

On the sidelines of the conference, a number of workshops will be launched to demonstrate a range of experiences and information and administrative systems applied at different health sectors. These workshops will be delivered by some specialists in the domain of health information systems technology, currently working inside and outside the Kingdom. Besides, an annexed exhibition will be hosted during the event. Well-known national and international companies and institutions specialized in the health informatics technology will participate in this fair.

It is worth mentioning that the e-health conference of this year comes in continuation to the successful outcomes of the previous conference, which was held last year at Four Season Hotel in Riyadh and came up with many recommendations and suggestions amid a high turnout by specialists and those interested in the field of e-health.
