MOH: ‘11 Hospitals Accommodating 2.200 Beds Furnished and Equipped’

As part of its strategy to establish and inaugurate 45 hospitals over this year and the year to come, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that 11 general and specialized hospitals and a tower are currently being furnished and equipped with the latest medical and non-medical appliances, at a total capacity amounting to 2200 beds, to serve a number of the Kingdom’s regions and governorates.
 
The Deputy Minister for Medical Supply and Engineering Affairs, Dr. Salah Al-Mazrou‘, has pointed out that the Ministry has approved, as part of its budget for this fiscal year1435/1436H, furnishing and equipping a number of hospitals and medical towers all over the Kingdom’s regions,at a total cost of SR 990.000.000.
 
Besides, Dr. Al-Mazrou‘ has indicated that the bed capacity of those hospitals ranges from 100 to 500 beds, including 500 beds at Hail General Hospital, 200 beds at North Riyadh Hospital, 200 beds at the medical tower annexed to ‘Ar'ar Central Hospital, 100 beds at Al-Laith Hospital, 100 beds at Prince Muhammad bin Fahd General Hospital, 100 beds at Genetic Blood Diseases Hospital in Qatif and 100 beds in Maternity and Children Hospital in Bisha.
 
Furthermore, Dr. went on adding that those projects include four mental health hospitals with a total capacity of 800 beds “200 beds at each hospital”, namely Mental Health Hospital in Hail, Mental Health Hospital in Al-Kharj, Mental Health Hospital in Tabuk and Mental Health Hospital in Najran.
 
Within the same vein, Dr. Al-Mazrou‘ has highlighted that the accomplishment of those projects comes as part of the MOH’s efforts to disseminate its health facilities all over the Kingdom’s regions and governorates; in an endeavor to provide health services for citizens, and to serve the patient and gain his satisfaction, within the framework the National Project for Integrated and ComprehensiveHealth Care. Dr. Al-Mazrou‘  added that this project is reckoned the principal pillar of the MOH strategic plan, to achieve an integrated health system in each region in the Kingdom, in line with the national and international standard; which is based on the principles of justice, inclusiveness and equity in terms of distribution, accessibility and affordability of health services.
