15 February 2014
His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Rabeeah, has approved the decision of the MOH Private Health Institutions' Violations Consideration Committees at Al-Qurayyat Health Affairs General Directorate, fining a dermatologist, working at a private clinic, SR 15.000; due to selling skin-whitening packages and vitamin C masks without a scientific name at a perfume shop. In doing so, he violated the statutory regulations of the Ministry of Health (MOH), which prohibit such a practice unless licensed by the competent authorities in the Kingdom.

Furthermore, the decision stipulated taking the statutory punitive actions by the MOH Private Health Institutions' Violations Consideration Committee against that private clinic, pursuant to the adopted regulations.

The MOH has emphasized that it would take all the statutory procedures, including the cautionary closure, towards any health institution that does not comply with the required quality standards of health services; in an endeavor to oblige such institutions to improve their conditions and redress all irregularities observed there, pursuant to the statutory procedures.
