GCC Health Ministers Approve of the Reproduction of “Salamtak” Show

The GCC Health Ministers approved of the reproduction of the famous TV show: "Salamtak" (the Arabic word for: Get well soon!) to kick off in the second half of 2014, Allah willing, in a modern style and high technology, in line with the latest modern techniques in the field of TV production. Such programs meet the desires of the targeted audience, to promote the health awareness amid all Gulf society segments, through quick awareness one minute-flashes.

 

The Supervisor-General of Media, Relations and Health Awareness, Dr. Khalid Marghalani has declared that the GCC Health Ministers have approved of the reproduction of the of the successful TV show “Salamtak” in its fifth season, in collaboration with the GCC Joint Program Production Institution (GCC JPPI) and the National Bureau for Media and Public Relations; in an endeavor to discuss the public health issues through 100 brief flashes in awareness manner. That is to be added to a 30-minutes series of episodes using the modern TV drama. 


Within the same vein, Dr. Marghalani highlighted the importance of rebroadcasting the program again; for its great impact on the awareness of GCC citizens and its great feedback. Furthermore, he commended this meeting, which discussed the topics, that will be involved in the program episodes and messages via TV and Radio, as well as approving of the mechanisms of carrying out these media products, in order to broadcast them via all GCC mass media. Meanwhile, he lauded the terrific cooperation shown by the bodies participating in the implementation of the program. Moreover, Dr. Marghalani underlined that the program will focus through its coming episodes and messages on numerous major health issues, mainly the chronic and non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, heart attacks, and smoking risks, which may cause fears for many citizens, in addition to the program's focus on the importance of following a proper health approach. He also added that the Program Production Organization has effectively finished the typical episode, and sent it to the GCC Health Ministries.


Furthermore, Dr. Marghalani went on adding that the strategic objectives of the new time-phase of this TV program include reducing the outbreak of mortality rates, because of the potential and endemic diseases, as well as promoting the knowledge and awareness of the mental and social diseases.

It is worth mentioning that this health program “Salamtak” was produced over four parts in 1980, by virtue of the decision of GCC Health Ministers, which had a major impact on the health awareness, and obvious contributions to reinforcing the healthy lifestyles.
