Princess Hessah Al-Sha'lan Patronizes the Closing Ceremony of Breast Cancer Awareness Month Tomorrow

Her Royal Highness the Wife of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Princess Hessah bint Terad Al-Sha'lan, will patronize the day after tomorrow “Thursday” the closing ceremony of the “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” held in October 2013 under the slogan: “Wear Pink Clothes” at the Princess Nora bint Abdul Rahman University in Riyadh. The Ministry of Health (MOH) aims by this campaign to promote the health awareness among women concerning breast cancer and its causes, as well as making them aware of the importance of the early detection of breast cancer; that is to be added to the ways of increasing the survival rate and reducing the mortality rate; given that the rate of recovery from the cancer breast reaches, Allah Willing, to 98% when detected in its early stages.
 
Within the same vein, the activities of the “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” included the launching of wide-scale field campaigns at markets and women's gatherings centers for examination and detection of breast cancer; that is to be added to distributing various health awareness brochures, and urging the ladies at the age of forty and above to conduct early examination of breast cancer at the mobile clinics, which were equipped with a specialized medical team, including female receptionists, female clinical examination physicians, female specialists in mammography, female health awareness educators, and other female supervisors. The clinics were also supplied with an electric elevator for those with special needs and elder ladies; so that they can conduct breast cancer examination easily and conveniently under the team’s supervision.
 
It is worth mentioning that MOH intends to implement an integrated strategy to promote the early examination of breast cancer in all regions of the Kingdom, given that the first phase was launched in Riyadh, targeting the examination of 10,000 ladies. Finally, the Ministry has expressed its thanks and appreciation to the Wife of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; for patronizing this event, and her endless interest in the MOH's events and programs.
