Dr. Al-Rabeeah Participates in the 7th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, is participating in the 7th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences on 10-12 December, 2012, at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.  In the meantime, a honoring ceremony for the winners of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences will be held for the 7th consecutive year (2011 – 2012).
 
Tomorrow, Tuesday, Dr. Al-Rabeeah is going to conduct a lecture on the rich experience of the Kingdom in separating conjoined twins, and reviewing the experience of  ‘One Team’ which lasted for more than twenty years (from 1990 to 2012). This is an important scientific achievement in the medicine domain, with the auspicious concern of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, May Allah protect him. The number of cases received by the Kingdom has reached about 69 cases of conjoined twins from 17 countries, of which 30 cases have been separated successfully, and there were three cases of parasitic twins. Conducting such complex surgical operations reflects the noble humanitarian attitude of His Majesty.
 
In addition to that, the Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, presents, in the presence of several international bodies and diplomatic representatives, “Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences” for the prominent medical figures in the Arab World on Monday evening. Dr. Al-Rabeeah won this this year’s Award, and is going to receive it during the ceremony at Rashid Hall annexed to the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.
 
It is noteworthy that such honoring has come in recognition of Dr. Al-Rabeeah's colossal contributions and unstinting efforts, in an endeavor to develop all domains of medical and humanitarian services at the international level, in general, and the Saudi health sector, in particular.
