The MOH Assistant Undersecretary for Therapeutic Medicine Dr. Yacub Mazroo said MOH is considering implementation of family and community health program. A package of integrative services will be provided under the banner "A Family Doctor for Each Family", including enlightment of people on the nature of their health problems and providing them suitable solutions accordingly. He said the program will be executed through 2000 health centers in the different provinces.
Dr. Al-Mazroo said the program services include basic environmental hygiene, maternal and childhood services, vaccination against contagious and endemic diseases, treatment of common diseases, and providing basic drugs.
He said MOH has adopted a comprehensive strategy for implementing the above program on the basis of fair distribution, quality improvement, cooperation among all MOH health sectors, and participation of the whole community.
"The program aims at promoting the health care system as well as providing integrative, outstanding, and cost effective care services", he said. "It involves highly organized work team, provision of basic services to the community, prevention of diseases, rehabilitation, at privatizing hospitals, implementing cooperative health insurance for all population groups, coordinating between health services, and giving priority to population groups confronting more risk".
He said MOH is keen to provide the best services to citizens through a package of ambitious programs carefully carried out under close support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and the Heir to the throne HRH Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz.
