The Directorate of Religious Awareness releasses annual report

A recent report on the achievements of the MOH Directorate of Religious Awareness said 451 of workers at MOH hospitals and health centers in the different parts of the Kingdom have declared their converting to Islam during the year 1427. The report said the purposes behind establishing the Directorate of Religious Awareness in 1421 include calling non Muslims working at the MOH health facilities to Islam, enlightening patients on religious affairs, alleviating the sufferings of patients of incurable diseases, qualifying health workers to carry out the task of calling to the "straight way" within the vicinities of their works, organizing symposia and lectures for spreading the right religious understanding among hospital staffs and patients, and coordinating with hospital managements for ensuring commitment to Islamic teachings and behavior. According to the report, the Directorate of Religious Affairs executes its duties in coordination with the relative bodies at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the Presidency of the Directorate of Research and Fatwa, and other bodies.
 
The Directorate of Religious Affairs has paid about 235,000 visits to inpatients at the MOH hospitals during the year 1427, offering them about 67,000 gifts. More than 1.5 pamphlets in the Arabic language and about 48,000 pamphlets in other languages have been distributed during the same period.
