17 August 2019

The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that, during this year’s Hajj season, the primary healthcare centers in the Holy Sites served over 200,000 pilgrims, and the mobile medical clinics served over 18,000 pilgrims, as part of the health services provided to 500,000 pilgrims at the health facilities in Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites. Since early, MOH has completed the preparation of such health facilities for pilgrim’s service in the Holy Sites.

It is worth mentioning that these primary healthcare centers are one of the most important health facilities providing therapeutic and preventive services to pilgrims in the Holy Sites; because of their wide spread through 94 healthcare centers disseminated according to their geographical locations to include all the Holy Sites in Mina, Jamarat, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. Besides, the Holy Sites have been enhanced with six mobile medical clinics with all necessary logistics of medications and laboratories to enable pilgrims reach there easily and directly.

Furthermore, these healthcare centers provide a wide range of health services, including that of general outpatient clinics, emergency services for those pilgrims with injuries or heat exhaustion, in addition to chronic disease services. All these services are provided by highly qualified health and administrative staff working constantly around the clock. Besides, MOH has earlier developed the infrastructure of a number of these healthcare centers and reconstructed them before this year’s Hajj season for providing services up to the aspirations of the beneficiaries, given that six mobile medical clinics have been located through pilgrims’ pathways during this year’s Hajj season.
