By Allah’s Grace, Oncology Center of King Khalid Hospital-Najran has successfully performed six surgeries in PIPAC technology (Pressurized IntraPeritoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy), through which a chemical dose is given in an endoscopy. According to Najran Health Affairs, this medical procedure benefits patients with non-ectopic peritoneal tumors by changing chemotherapy into steam therapy through injecting it into the peritoneum by compressed air sprays. The peritoneum is the serous membrane forming the lining of the abdominal cavity or coelom.
The Affairs added that King Khalid Hospital featured prominently among MOH’s hospitals in such surgeries, in view of the cutting-edge equipment and technologies of its Oncology Center, inaugurated in early 2019.
