According Al-Jouf Health Affairs, 50 medical teams from a number of health centers have launched a campaign for early detection of diabetes and hypertension at a number of the region's mosques during the month of Ramadan. The campaign also shed light on the health benefits of walking daily.
The level of sugar and pressure measurement has been done for more than 10,000 worshipers in the region's provinces and cities and some of them were referred to hospitals and healthcare centers, said the Affairs, adding that the early detection of diabetes will help to develop a treatment plan to reduce the expected complications.
The initiative comes as a part of MOH's campaign under the theme "Healthy Fasting" during the month of Ramadan with the aim of encouraging community members to be physically active and to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
