The Ministry of Health (MOH) has highlighted that there are a number of risk factors for high blood pressure (hypertension), including hereditary, aging, obesity, chronic diseases (e.g. diabetes and others), anxiety, tension, unhealthy diet, laziness, lack of physical activity, and smoking.
Coinciding with the World Hypertension Day, MOH has pointed out through an infographic published on its twitter page that the complications of hypertension may include heart failure, aneurysms, stroke, vision loss (blindness), angina, and kidney failure.
Within the same vein, MOH has called upon hypertension patients to be keen to use the medication properly and to complete its as prescribed by the doctor.
It is worth mentioning that such awareness-raising activities come in continuation of MOH's efforts to maintain the health and safety of fasting persons, to promote health awareness, and to urge them to adopt healthy behaviors.
