Al-Rabiah Highlights the Importance of Prevention to Public Health

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, highlighted the importance of disease prevention and its significant impact on health promotion, underlining that prevention is one of the objectives that help us achieve the Saudi Vison 2030 and promote the public health and health lifestyle in the community​.


This came during his participation today, March 15th, 2019, in the walking campaign: #Walk30 (in Arabic: #امش30), which has been launched by the Ministry of Health (MOH) across the Kingdom’s regions and governorates, starting from campus of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University-Riyadh. Besides, Al-Rabiah extended his thanks to all participants in the campaign, indicating that it will be held annually –Allah Willing- to promote the walking culture, especially after witnessing this great enthusiasm in all participants. He also pointed out that walking helps control many diseases, maintain heart health, prevent chronic diseases, lose weight, strengthen bones and joints, as well as enhancing health and mood.

Al-Rabiah added that the campaign has witnessed a high turnout among people of all ages, including adults, young, men, and women; the matter which reflects the change in the public awareness towards a healthy and disease-free life, Allah Willing.
