In the presence of His Excellency, the Health Minister, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has launched today (Wednesday) «Wateen» -Aorta- App for blood donation. It is a non-profit initiative to raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and to ensure adequate supplies to blood banks across the Kingdom. Also, the initiative seeks to ease blood donations procedures through «Wateen» application, to meet the needs of blood banks Kingdom wide, to launch regular donation campaigns and to improve donor experience.
In addition, «Wateen» application aims to provide all blood banks across the Kingdom with adequate quantities of blood by the year 2020. The app received 12,786 users and 1,897 donors. Also, «Wateen» application has organized 8 blood donation campaigns with the participation of 140 donors, and 2,099 blood bags.
