His Excellency the Vice Minister of Health for Health Affairs, Mr. Hamad Al-Dowaila, has led the Saudi delegation participating in the 51st Session of the Arab Health Ministers Council, which is currently being held in Cairo. In his speech before the council, Al-Dowaila extended his deepest condolences to the Egyptian government and people on victims of the tragic accident that took place at Cairo's main rail station, praying for Al-Mighty Allah to protect Egypt and its people.

“This session discussed a number of significant topics related to the Arab people’s health under the umbrella of Universal Health Coverage (UHC), as well as underling the health challenges, facing the Arab countries, which are a common challenge requiring from us to collaborate and step up our efforts for supporting each other and sharing our successful health experiences. Likewise, the session handled a number of issues concerning the Arab Board Of Health Specializations (ABHS), the importance of its support, and sustaining its entity,” stated Al-Dowaila.

He also pointed out that there is consensus on supporting the member countries that host ABHS’s committees and activities, highlighting that the Kingdom, in implementation of the previous session decisions, has completed its preparations to receive the member states’ candidates to attend an advanced training course about the public health emergency response in September of this year. He indicated that this training course aims to share the Kingdom's extensive experiences in dealing with the public health threats and mass gathering medical management.

He added that the meeting touched on some topics related to services of blood transfusion, organ, tissue and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, as well as improving maternal and child healthcare in the Arab region.
