According to the Northern Borders Health Affairs, Maternity and Children Hospital-Arar served more than 45,000 patients, with 30,736 obstetric and gynecologic emergencies and 6,366 pediatric emergencies, 9,600 outpatients, 1,351 rehabilitation cases, in addition to 6,073 beneficiaries of x-ray services.
It is worth mentioning that the Northern Borders Health Affairs features 12 specialized medical centers (a cardiac center, 5 diabetes centers, 3 kidney centers, and 3 dental centers), as well as 11 hospitals with a 1,410-bed capacity, which are enhanced with a number of delicate medical specialties such as: neurosurgery, heart surgery, bariatric surgery, endoscopy, and others. Also, the Affairs has 48 primary healthcare centers, serving 904,580 outpatients, while its hospitals performed 18,769 surgeries in 2017.
