Bisha: Rare Surgery Saves Child with Cyst in his Pharynx

By Allah’s Grace, a medical team at King Abdullah Hospital - Bisha, in collaboration with the ENT Surgery Department of the College of Medicine at Bisha University, has successfully saved a one-and-half years old girl with cyst in her pharynx.

According to Bisha Health Affairs, the child was brought to the hospital after suffering from difficulty breathing and swallowing. After due medical checkups, she was diagnosed with a congenital cyst in her pharynx, which is a globally rare case. So, she had a rare surgery, the-first-of-its-kind at King Abdullah Hospital-Bisha. Thank Allah the surgery was successful, the child recovered and she is now in good health.

It is worth noting that King Abdullah Hospital - Bisha is the first reference hospital in the region, serving the residents of Bisha, Bilqarn, Raniah and Tathlith. It features a 365-bed capacity and provides all medical specialties. In 1438H., the hospital conducted 6,628 surgeries. It also served 17,162 inpatients and 215,322 outpatients, including 133,659 emergencies and 81,663 cases at outpatient clinics.
