​Bisha Health Affairs: 91 Training Programs for Staff in 2017

In 2017, Bisha Health Affairs organized 91 training programs for 2,309 trainees (male and female), including 635 doctors, 1,321 nurses, 267 support-health professionals, 81 administrative staff, and 25 security and safety officials, with 314 Continuing Medical Education hours accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

In the same vein, the Technical Skills Development Center implemented 53 training programs serving 775 trainees (male and female). Also, the Institute of Public Administration provided training programs to 837 employees, while 18 employees have received scholarships abroad and 41 professionals have benefited from Dispatch programs.

It is worth noting that Bisha Health Affairs feature seven hospitals, serving the residents of Bisha, Tathlith, Bilqarn, and neighboring localities. The Affairs also provides 84 primary health services.

It is also noted that MoH has increased the bed capacity of its hospitals in 2017 by 1822 beds, thus, making 43,675 beds in total instead of 41,835 beds. This is part of MoH’s endeavors to enhance hospital’s bed capacity for hospitalization and to reduce hospitalization waiting lists. By Allah’s Grace, this has positively improved MoH’s medical services and boosted patient satisfaction. To that end, MoH has inaugurated new hospitals, and geared up the present capacity of hospitals by recruiting more doctors and adding more beds.

In its report of achievements in 2017, MoH stated that one-day surgeries increased from 44% to 55%. Also, waiting lists were reduced through supplying health facilities with needed appliances for one-day surgeries, in addition to key indicators to increase the number of this type of procedures.
