The Health Minster Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabiah applauded the unlimited support to the health services rendered by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz - may Allah protect him, which positively reflects on the improved quality of health services provided to citizens across the Kingdom.
In a press release on the occasion of launching a series of projects in Taif on Monday by Prince Khaled Al Faisal, Emir of Makkah and advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Dr. Al Rabiah said: "The auspicious support and ongoing attention paid by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince - may Allah protect them - to the health sector embodies our leadership's interest in providing healthcare to citizens, protecting their health and safety, as well as building healthy generations to keep our national development. By Allah's Grace, the Ministry of Health has realized many achievements across its sectors and services. As well, the new Health System comes in line with the National Transformation Program to secure an added value, through enhancing health outcomes, ensuring access to health services, improving service-delivery modalities, in addition offering integrated healthcare in compliance with adopted international standards".
"Thank Allah progress is maintained under this bright reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz. In this regard, Taif health projects represent only a simple part of an integrated system of development projects across our beloved homeland in all fields, which will definitely benefit our esteemed fellow citizens.", added Dr. Al Rabiah.
"These new projects will enhance Taif health facilities. They will - by Allah's Leave - boost health services, increase bed capacity and reduce referral of cases to hospitals outside the region, mainly cardiac cath, tumor and obesity cases. Also, such projects feature and outstanding supplement to existing health facilities in Taif. They will also increase their capacity by 20% and enable them to provide highly advanced medical services.", stressed Dr. Al Rabiah.
Then, Dr. Al-Rabiah concluded his statement asking Allah to maintain the blessing of Islam, safety and security on the Kingdom, to protect our leaders the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, and grant them success in all their good and righteous endeavors.
It is noted that Taif health projects are valued more than half a billion SR, including a maternity and children tower (280m SR) with 300-bed capacity, where 120 beds are allocated for incubators and ICU, cutting-edge medical appliance, an 8-beds integrated emergency department, 8 operating rooms and 19 specialized clinics. The hospital also includes a residential building for nurses to accommodate 1,300 nurses, in addition to an integrated entertainment club enhanced with needed services (valued at 71m SR).
Furthermore, the projects also include a Nuclear Medicine Unit at King Faisal Medical Complex (13m SR). Umm Al-Dawam General Hospital will be launched with 50-bed capacity (52m SR), in several specialties, including internal medicine, dermatology, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, surgery, pediatrics, and mental health. Also, the hospital features cutting-edge emergency department, operating rooms, radiology and labs. In the same vein, the first stage of Al-Mahani Hospital will be inaugurated with 50-bed capacity. Full operation will be stage-wise by Allah's Leave, where the first stage covers outpatient clinics (surgery, pediatrics, orthopedics, ophthalmology, internal medicine, dertmatology, urology, ENT and mental health. Other stages will follow suit.
Dr. Al Rabiah also reviewed more health projects, including 3 specialized units at King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital (18m SR), due to the key role of certain medical specialties, and their contribution to integrated health services in Taif, to reduce referring medical cases to hospitals outside. Atop of these units comes the oncology unit, which helps diagnose and treat over 85% of various tumor cases. Its also helps administer chemotherapy. The division features the state-of-the-art medical standards, appliances and professionals. It also features a cardiac cath unit with three different subdivisions, namely: cath, diagnosis and thoracic pains treatment. It will help speed up diagnosis, early detection of clots and catheterization.
