Samtah Hospital Saves a Patient Injured in His Ocular Cavity

According to Jazan Health Affairs, a team of maxillofacial Surgeons at Samtah Hospital has successfully saved a patient injured in his ocular cavity near to his eye orbit and outside his skull. Immediately, he was taken to the operating room where had a successful surgery through a surgical incision by his eye to remove all damaged tissues.

Then, he was taken to the inpatient ward for further follow-up and medical care. Thank Allah he is in table condition.

It is worth noting that during the first third of 1439H., Samtah Hospital has successfully conducted 947 routine, emergency and day surgeries, including 298 general procedures using laparoscope (for exploration, cholecystectomy and removal of appendix), 242 maternity and children operation (using the first-of-its-kind laparoscopic technology in the department), 256 orthopedic surgeries, 72 eye, ENT, dental and maxillofacial procedures, 6 neurosurgeries and 73 urinary tract operations.

It is noteworthy that the MOH has launched a daily specialization-based e-Waiting List for surgical operations on its online portal. The list features the MOH's hospitals, along with surgical specializations and corresponding waiting days respectively.

The list also includes five levels of waiting days, from one to 180 days.

By launching this initiative, MOH aims to update all patients and beneficiaries of services provided by its health facilities on the developmental efforts to boost performance levels, and to provide high quality services to satisfy and meet the health needs of citizens.​
