Ideal Weight Initiative: 6,000 Beneficiaries from "Our Medical Walk and Healthy Meal"

​​​Over 6,000 persons have taken part in "Our Medical Walk and Healthy Meal" events organized under "Ideal Weight" initiative emerging from "How to be a role model" launched by Makkah Cultural Forum at al-Husayniyah Park and Walkway. For six days consecutively, several medical agencies, nutrition companies and 100 volunteer staff participated in the event.

According to Makkah Health Affairs, during the event, 400 cases - checked by the accompanying mobile medical clinics - were referred to specialized centers and hospitals.

The Affairs already announced extending the event for more additional 4 days, at the behest of visitors, to benefit from the mobile clinics and educational corners. In so doing, the event will be organized next Friday and Saturday at al-Naseem Walkway. Then, th following Friday and Saturday will be at Battha Quraish Walking Area; to ensure greater access as many people as possible, to enhance health education and to promote walking in order to secure the initiative's objectives, including having an ideal weight.

On the other hand, MOH's Home Healthcare Program conducted last year 311,522 home visits by 320 medical teams (2000 daily visits), through 213 hospitals across the Kingdom.

Since 1430H., the Ministry of Health (MOH) has provided home medicine services through a qualified medical team across the Kingdom to the eligible patients at their homes and among their families; in an endeavor to enhance their physical and mental health conditions, and to give them and their families peace of mind. Furthermore, the program increases the bed usability turn-over; thus, helping MOH serve more patients at less costs.

It is worth mentioning that the home medicine departments and sections across the Kingdom provide health care to patients with the engagement of their families, and meet their needs, in terms of medication and devices, which positively reflects on patients’ psychological, social and health conditions.​
