King Abdullah Hospital- Bisha Saves Traffic-Accident Patient

The Emergency Department of King Abdullah Hospital- Bisha, has successfully treated a patient injured in a traffic accident. After due medical checkups, he was diagnosed with injuries in different parts of his body including comminuted fractures in the 2nd and 3rd lumbar vertebrae (L2 - L3), with pressure on the peripheral nerves of his legs. He was also suffering from left ankle fracture and dislocation, shinbone fracture and comminuted knee fracture. By Allah’s Grace, the medical team has successfully stabilized and restored the lumbar vertebrae, removed pressure on the nerves, stabilized and restored the ankle, leg and knee. The patient condition improved and restored mobility of his feet and thigh muscles.
 
It is noted that the 355-bed hospital is a reference hospital for 6 hospitals in Bisha as well as some cases from Baha and Ranyah. Last month, the hospital conducted more than 450 surgical operations successfully.
 
It is noted that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program is in line with the National Transformation Program 2020 towards achieving the Saudi Vision 2030. The program covers 70 hospitals and features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects.
