Arar Cardiac Center Ends the Suffering of Cardiomyopathic Patient in her 20s

A medical team of the Open-Heart Surgery Department at Prince Abdulaziz bin Mesa'ed Center - Arar has successfully done a 5-hour open-heart surgery for a 27-year old lady, in which her heart valves were replaced with artificial ones; though she was suffering from Cardiomyopathy.
 
For years, the patient was suffering from left heart valve regurgitation, in addition to myocardial insufficiency 24 hours later, she was discharged from ICU to the inpatient ward. By Allah's Grace, she is recovering and with a stable health condition. Over the past year (1438H.), Arar Cardiac Center received 22,833 outpatients, with 1,578 inpatients, 1,386 cardiac catheterizations, as well as 109 open-heart and valve replacement procedures.
 
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which covers 70 main hospitals and aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects, including emergency, clinics, surgeries, hospitalization, ICU, radiology and labs. The program also aims to develop the skills of health professionals to use the indicators and to identify performance improvement potentials, in compliance with patient safety and quality standards.
