1,427 Birth Cases at Makkah Hospitals during a Month

According to Makkah Health Affairs, from Dhul-Hijjah 10th to Al-Muharram 10th, Obstetrics and Gynecology Departments of Makkah hospitals conducted 1,427 birth cases (947 caesarean and 480 natural).
 
It is noted that Maternity and Children Hospital-Makkah is enhanced with the state-of-the-art medical equipment used in surgeries, radiology, emergency, and reception departments. Besides, the hospital is staffed with distinguished Saudi cadres, who aim to promote the health services provided to patients, to receive and handle birth cases, via emergency departments and outpatient and inpatient clinics, 24/7 hours. Also, the hospital features a pediatric department, including a number of delicate specialties, a Neonatal ICU (with 82-bed capacity), a pediatric ICU (with 13-bed capacity), and a pediatric emergency department (with 26-bed capacity). 
 
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which covers 70 main hospitals and aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects, including emergency, clinics, surgeries, hospitalization, ICU, radiology and labs. The program also aims to develop the skills of health professionals to use the indicators and to identify performance improvement potentials, in compliance with patient safety and quality standards.
