Eastern Hospitals: 752+ Emergencies Received Last Year

During 1348H, 12 hospitals of the Eastern Health Affairs received 752,848 outpatients at emergency departments and 682,212 at outpatient clinics. Also, 14,241 surgical procedure were done, and 9,697 obstetrical cases.
 
According to Eastern Health Affairs, these stats cover 12 hospitals, including: Dammam Maternity and Children Hospital, King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital - Dammam, Al-Thehran Eye Specialist Hospital, Abqaiq Hospital, Ras Tannourah Hospital, Safwi Hospital, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Hospital - Melaijah, Al-Khafji General Hospital, Al-Rafiah Hospital, Salwa General Hospital, Al-Nu'ayriyah General Hospital and Al-Batha Hospital. These hospitals feature highly qualified medical professionals to receive patients at the outpatient clinics, emergencies and surgical departments when needed. Also, the hospitals are equipped to provide top quality therapeutic services.
 
The stats also include 172,906 emergencies, 96,513 cases at outpatient clinics, 4,529 surgical procedures and 9,036 obstetrical cases at Dammam Maternity and Children Hospital. On the other hand, King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital - Dammam received 37,244 emergencies, 277,733 cases at outpatient clinics and 4,219 surgical procedures. Also, l-Thehran Eye Specialist Hospital received 14,485 emergencies, 73,503 cases at outpatient clinics and conducted 3,371 surgical procedures. Safwi Hospital served 74,037 emergencies, 32,400 outpatients, and conducted 60 surgeries. Salwa General Hospital received 29,796 emergency cases, 6,124 outpatients, 19 obstetrical cases, and did 19 24 surgical procedures.
 
According to the same stats, Al-Khafji General Hospital served 110,592 emergency cases, 33,452 outpatients, 1,050 obstetrical cases and performed 708 surgeries. Likewise, Al-Nu'ayriyah General Hospital received 102,716 emergencies, 46,587 outpatients, 461 obstetrical cases, and conducted 773 surgical procedures. Ras Tannourah Hospital served 81,668 emergencies, 25,217 outpatients, 10 obstetrical cases, and performed 38 surgeries. in the same vein, Al-Rafiah Hospital received 18,569 emergencies, 36,753 outpatients, and performed 140 surgical procedures. Abqaiq Hospital served 56,112 emergency cases, 24,621 outpatients, 68 obstetrical cases, and conducted 194 surgeries. Al-Batha Hospital served 11,333 emergencies and 113 outpatients. Also, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Hospital - Melaijah received 43,390 emergencies, 29,197 outpatients, 53 obstetrical cases,and performed 285 surgical procedures.
 
It is noteworthy that the MOH has launched a daily specialization-based e-Waiting List for surgical operations on its online portal. The list features the MOH's hospitals, along with surgical specializations and corresponding waiting days respectively.  The list also includes five levels of waiting days, from one to 180 days.
 
By launching this initiative, MOH aims to update all patients and beneficiaries of services provided by its health facilities on the developmental efforts to boost performance levels, and to provide high quality service to satisfy and meet the health needs of citizens.
