Joint Statement by MOH and Riyadh Police
18 August 2017
According to Riyadh Police, upon orders of the Public Prosecutions, the Criminal Investigation and Detective Administration has successfully arrested a citizen charged with verbal aggression on a resident doctor working in a healthcare center in Riyadh.

This follows MOH's announcement two days ago of identifying the aggressor, as well as due coordination with the security bodies.

In a joint statement, both the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Riyadh Police said that the aggressor - who works in a private company - has been arrested and referred to the public prosecutor's office for appropriate legal action.

MOH has interacted with the incident following circulation of an audio recording constituting a citizen's verbal aggression on a doctor after he refused to give said citizen undeserved sick leave. The Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah received the doctor and thanked him for his attitude. In this regard, MOH stresses that it will not tolerate any verbal of physical abuse against health practitioners, and that it receives complaints and feedback 24/7 through its call center on (937).
