1st Successful Open-Heart Surgery at Cardiac Center in Hail
27 November 2016
The medical team, led by Dr. Adel Tash, at Cardiac Center in Hail has conducted the first open-heart surgery today, Sunday, morning, November 27th, 2016 (corresponding to Safar 27th, 1438H), for a 50-year-old patient, who had been suffering from chest pain when exerting any light effort.
It is worth mentioning that this surgery, which lasted for three hours, is reckoned a paradigm shift in the medical work in the region. As the patient, suffering from exhaustion, had earlier been admitted to hospital, whose diagnosis showed blockage of the coronary arteries, the matter which necessitated conducting a surgery by the medical team at the Center. The patient is currently in a stable condition, under observation.
Furthermore, His Excellency the Minister of Health has given his orders, during his visit to the region two weeks ago, to quickly equip and support the Cardiac Center in Hail; so that it can perform open-heart surgeries and eliminate patients’ suffering from traveling to other centers.
